Social Media Is For You!
Northeast Delta Dental is committed to presenting the message of good oral health to our customers and the communities we serve in the tri-state region of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. In our quest to find new ways to deliver this important message, the E-Connections Team was formed in the spring of 2009 to explore the various social media platforms and to see which of these would be appropriate for our company to use, and which ones were used by you, our customer. Social Media is constantly evolving and coming out with new and innovative technologies for communication. The platforms we choose today may not be the platforms we use tomorrow, next month, or next year.
Mike Bourbeau, Vice President of Information Systems at Northeast Delta Dental shares the corporate vision for social media initiatives in this short presentation.
Presently the team ‘feeds’ the following social media sites:
Facebook – We post several times a week on a variety of topics to include oral health messages, company events, and events in the community. We also include ‘fun’ surveys, polls, and trivia.
Northeast Delta Dental Radio – Tom Raffio, and other guests will speak on a variety of topics that include the Fisher Cats Oral Health Challenge, and the Children’s Oral Health Survey. Programs aired on WTPL FM 107.7
Twitter – We tweet about company events, fun things, and oral health messages. When we release an announcement or press release, we use a teaser text with a link to the full release. We will also re-tweet somebody else, if their tweet is company-related.
Tom’s Blog – Our President & CEO has his own blog and he writes a new posting every two weeks. Tom Raffio writes about leadership, personal development, teamwork, Northeast Delta Dental events, books he is reading, or any subject that he feels his readers will benefit from.
YouTube – We host our TV commercials / spots, corporate 'fun' videos, education, and instructional videos on our YouTube site. We also share and link to other oral health educational videos from other sites.
